The pleasant year-round climate in Murcia is just perfect for golf holidays but, with the modern golf resorts that have sprung up over the last few years, it is also ideal for family vacations as the modern Spanish resorts feature a wide range of spacious family holiday accommodation. So for golf fanatics, here are more details of golf courses in Murcia, additional to those mentioned in Part 1 of Golf in Murcia.

Conveniently located within a 15-minute drive from Murcia you’ll find the very new 18-hole championship Corvera Golf Course - an undulating course designed by Jose Olazabal - sitting in a valley at the edge of the Sierra de Carrascoy Mountains, a dramatic backdrop,.

In contrast to Corvera, La Manga golf resort has been around for some 40 years so fairways are palm-fringed and well established. And with an Academy, a pitch and putt course plus three 18-hole courses (South, North, and West), you’ll find plenty of enjoyable holes to challenge you. Expect a tough front nine on the South Course with plenty of water coming into play generally (on 15 holes), and a back nine that features a number of doglegs and a wicked 18th to finish the round. Lakes, storm drains and palm trees are features on the undulating North Course, whereas golfers have to contend with narrow fairways, gullies, blind shots and fast greens on the West Course.

There are 27 holes (three loops of 9 holes) to taunt golfers at Mosa Trajectum Golf Resort: the Stone Course with huge natural rock formations, thousands of palm trees and desert cacti; the almost-links-like Olive Course with an abundance of olive trees and menacing long grass; and the Pine Course boasting great views over the countryside from its highest point and, needless to say, a plethora of pine trees.

An aquatic driving range is an unusual feature at the La Tercia Golf Course, a new 9-hole typical resort course (that promises to be 18 eventually) with large greens and wide fairways. With a sports complex comprising tennis, bowls, football, basketball, cycling paths and play areas for children, La Tercia Golf Resort is a very family-friendly golf resort in Spain.

There’s every sign that the Severiano Ballesteros-designed 18-hole Peraleja Golf Course will be a golfing hotspot in the future with its exclusive services, facilities, and classy clubhouse. Like most golf courses in Murcia, the terrain is gently undulating; the course features difficult greens and well-placed bunkers, and four lakes connected by a small creek that winds through the resort.

The prevailing wind combined with numerous threatening water hazards are challenges you’ll have to face on the beachside Serena Golf Course - challenging for experienced golfers it also offers opt-outs for the not-so-experienced. Although flat and not a long course, accuracy is paramount off the tee as you’ll be faced with daunting water hazards, desert areas, and big bunkers. You’ll enjoy the panoramic views from the restaurant terrace after your round, they span over the golf course and the Mar Menor.
