Hacienda Riquelme Golf Resort is conveniently situated between Murcia City and the ancient port of Cartagena. The sandy beaches of the Mar Menor, famous for its water sports are only a 20 minute drive away. The area is great for children and many of the beaches have been deservedly awarded the blue flag. Other local activities include horse riding, hiking, cycling along the 7 mile promenade, boat trips across the Mar Menor and excellent shopping facilities. With miles of gorgeous beaches dotted with almond and palm trees, the Costa Calida is extremely popular for family holidays. With the numerous golf courses being constructed in the region, it is being hotly tipped as taking over from the Costa Del Sol as Europe’s leading golf area. Encompassed in the Costa Calida are: The Mar Menor - Europe’s largest salt water lagoon. It is a shallow lagoon of 170 square km with warm waters and gentle winds and is famous for its healing powers.
The Costa Calida is situated in the south east of Spain. To the north lies the Costa Blanca and to the south lies the Costa de Almeria. Translating as the 'Warm Coast' Costa Calida forms the coastline of the Murcia region. Well known for its mild climate, it enjoys sunshine for in excess of 320 days per year, more than any other in region in Spain. The sun is at its hottest during the summer months, with temperatures rarely falling below 30°C (86°F). Winters are typically very mild with averages hovering around 18°C (64°F). The Costa Calida/Murcia area is reputed to have one of the most pleasant climates in the world - according to the World Health Organisation. There are so many reasons for coming to this area and many people who come as holiday makers eventually return to live here. The Murcia region is one of Spain's & Europe's best kept secrets. An unspoilt area with 250km of beaches along the shores of 2 seas: the Mediterranean and the Mar Menor.

Local activities / places of interest
For the beach lover there are plenty to choose from and all are easily accessible by car. Mar Menor - a blue flagged beach which is extensive in size and 20 mins away is ideal for families as the water is calm, warm and shallow. Walking is also popular along the 7 mile beach promenade. It is also ideal for water sports, including sailing, swimming and windsurfing. Los Alcazares has many restaurants, bars and play areas 15 mins away. Murcia is fantastic for walking, cycling, golf, hiding, mountain bike cycling and horse riding. Cartagena harbour/town full of history and beauty - 25 mins. New, exciting water park in Aquapolis in Torrevieja - 30 mins. A local shopping complex called 'Dos Mares' with an enormous supermarket, many restaurants and a cinema is 20 minutes' drive away. Murcia the capital and two large shopping complexes and a new water / safari park are also 20 minutes away.

Fabulous apartment!
We all had a lovely relaxing stay - definite value for money. Really glad we had a car to explore the area. Complex itself was lovely and clean and totally secure - only let down of the site is the restaurant on site, fantastic setting and lovely little bar at the side but the food was a big let down. Would definitely recommend apartment and wouldn't hesitate to book the apartment again for a break in the sunshine. Owners were lovely on booking and kept in touch right throughout the build up to our departure to see what further help they could be and provided full instructions / guidance on airport directions / local ammenities. Hacienda Raquelme and its golf course was a little gem!

Super View
Excellent apartment in a good position with super view – we had everything we needed and more! Would definitely recommend it to friends! Once the Clubhouse and restaurant is finished (due to open end of September) it will be a great destination

Terrific Holiday
We had a terrific, relaxing and care free holiday staying at the apartment. The appartment was very clean, exceedingly comfortable and with all the amenities that you could wish for. The location was ideal, being close (but not too close) to the restaurant and club with thes ervice of a well provisioned supermarket and golf driving range. The swimming pool was only about 50 metres away which was great and the gardens were always well maintained. We had a great stay and certainly enjoyed playing some marvellous courses. The use of the underground car park was a real bonus as the car was always cool before setting off.

Booking information
Your holiday property is secured with a £150 non refundable deposit with the balance due 8 weeks before your holiday commences. We also require a £150 breakage deposit which is normally refunded within 7 days following a successful departure report. Guests are met at the resort entrance and shown to the apartment where an explanation of all the main facilities is given. Freshly laundered bed linen and towels are provided. The house is professionally cleaned immediately before you arrive ensuring you enjoy a pleasurable stay. All of these services are included in the cost of your apartment rental. Additional cleaning can be arranged locally.
