The penthouse is furnished to the highest of standards and consists of a lounge / dining room with leather suite, fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. Both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes and there is air-conditioning throughout. There is a 42’’ flat-screen TV with satellite channels, including Sky Sports & Movie channels along with a DVD player and music system.
The large master bedroom has a full en suite bathroom and leads out to a large balcony (30sq m.) overlooking swimming pools, golf course with large lake & mountains, an ideal back drop to have your breakfast in style. The second bedroom has a small French balcony with stunning roof top views of Mar Menor & La Manga Strip. There is a shower room, with W.C., bidet, wash basin etc. adjacent.

The Costa Calida (Warm Coast) comprises approximately 250 kilometers of Mediterranean coastline located in the province of Murcia. It extends roughly from El Mojon in the north to the resort of Aguilas in the south, the region to the north is called the Costa Blanca (White Coast) and the region to the south is known as the Costa Almeria.
The Costa Calida has a hot Mediterranean climate with high average temperatures and low rainfall, giving it its name ‘Warm Coast’.
The most notable feature of its northern coastline is the huge saltwater lagoon known as the Mar Menor (Little Sea) which has an area of approximately 170 km2 and is the largest of its kind in Europe. The Mar Menor is separated from the rest of the Mediterranean by a narrow strip of land known as La Manga (The Sleeve). La Manga is one of the best known sports resorts along the coastline of Spain and is some 22 km long and in places no more than 100 metres wide.
The waters of the Mar Menor are renowned for being some 5 degrees warmer than the surrounding Mediterranean Sea, this makes the beaches around the Mar Menor very popular with holidaymakers.
One of the towns located on the Mar Menor, Lo Pagan, is famous for its healing mud baths and people visit from all over the world to try out its beneficial effects. The mud baths at Lo Pagan are a protected area and are free for everyone to use and enjoy. Also nearby is the protected Natural Park of the Salinas of San Pedro del Pinatar.
Two of the important coastal towns of the Costa Calida are Cartagena and Mazarron, Cartagena in particular has a long and rich history going back some 3,000 years, Hannibal (of elephant fame) used the city as his Iberian capital. It was also an important city during Roman times and the remains of many Roman buildings have been found throughout the city, including a fantastic Roman theatre. Golf - There are over 20 golf courses within 10 miles of our resort , it is being hotly tipped as taking over from the Costa Del Sol as Europe’s leading golf area.
Beaches and Water Sports - soft sandy beaches of the Mar Menor with numerous children’s play areas on the sand, coupled with the calm waters of the Mar Menor make it ideal both for children and for the extensive water sports that are on offer here. These include Jet skiing, wind surfing, sailing, fishing, snorkelling, and scuba diving. The area is great for children and many of the beaches have been deservedly awarded the blue flag.
Scuba Diving - The Hormigas Islands near Cabo de Palos have been declared a Marine Reserve due to their exceptional beauty and the conservation of the sea floor, and are acknowledged as being one of Spain’s premier dive sites.
Horse Riding - La Manga Club is a wonderful location for all standards of horse riders. Set in the Mucian hills and surrounded by beautiful lemon groves, the La Manga Equestrian Centre offers a variety of daily treks along the beach or through the picturesque Spanish countryside.
Go Karts - Mar Menor Go Karts close to San Javier Airport is a great day out for all ages and there is also a refreshment cafeteria.
Football - look up Real Murcia, they are playing in the Spanish Premier League for the 2007/2008 season. They have a new purpose built stadium just to the north of the city next door to Nueva Condominia, so why not combine your shopping day with a football game.

Complex description
The Mar Menor Golf Resort offers a 18 hole golf course with excellent facilities. There is a tennis court, 8 paddle courts and children's playgrounds on site. There is a good small supermarket near the 5 star hotel which is only 10 mins walk away where there are bars and a restaurant and also a golf spike bar. You will find La Golleta a new retail complex, which is located at the main entrance to Mar Menor 2, just two minutes in the car or 15-20 mins stroll where there is a couple of good bars, spanish tapas bar and at least 4 other good restaurants along with a live music venue & Discotheque.
The luxury penthouse is ideal for a winter golfing weekend , the residents hold a friendly golf competition on Wednesdays and Fridays at reduced rates and they welcome guests to play, put your name on the notice board in the pro shop if you would like to play.

Notes on suitability
A car isn't essential (although we tend to hire one ourselves). There is a free bus service to the nearest beach and also a shopping mall which has cinema & ten pin bowling etc. There are numerous bars & good quality restaurants on the resort and at the entrance, all within a 8-20 minute gentle walk. There is a also a well stocked supermarket on the resort.
There is also a 5 star Inter Continental Hotel with luxury Spa and numerous sporting activities on the resort, so you really can spend your entire holiday here without need for a car if preferred.

Course description
The 18 hole Mar Menor Golf Course, designed by Jack Nicklaus Design. The Mar Menor Village golf course, re-designed by Jack Nicklaus is now run by Ola Golf Group
Although offering wide fairways and big greens the design requires accuracy in your shots to overcome the numerous changes in elevation, the lakes and strategically placed bunkers. However, the use of multiple tees means the course can offer a real challenge to the best of golfers whilst not detering the less skillful player. Its spectacular design demands a diverse range of shots to successfully overcome the obstacles, making its round an ideal place to hold tournaments, with the extra incentive offered by the various water hazards that embellish the course and global views. The lakes play an important role as the game progresses, requiring of the player great skills and composure when facing these types of obstacles. This lush Mediterranean landscape full of palm tress, native grasses and flowering shrubs adds to the beauty of the resort.

We were very satisfied with our stay at this penthouse property in Mar Menor and had a great holiday in a quiet location which was central to the Mar Menor and the mediterranean coast and the cities of Cartegena and Murcia It is fitted out to a high standard and has all that you require to ensure a pleasureable stay. We fully intend to return again in the near future.

Guests are met at the resort entrance and shown to the apartment where an explanation of all the main facilities is given. Freshly laundered bed linen and towels are provided. The house is professionally cleaned immediately before you arrive ensuring you enjoy a pleasurable stay. A welcome pack including coffee, tea, milk, sugar, bread, butter, marmalade, orange juice and bottled water is waiting for you at the house, ensuring you have a comfortable start to your holiday no matter what time of day you arrive. All of these services are included in the cost of your villa rental. Additional cleaning can be arranged locally.
Your holiday property is secured with a £150 deposit, which will be used as a security bond and returned to you as soon as the property has been checked following your departure. The balance is due 8 weeks before your holiday commences.
