Overlooking the large swimming pool and gardens; our townhouse benefits from a beautiful location within the complex. It is fully equipped and furnished to a very high standard. It has the additional benefit of being right next door to a friend's identical townhouse - so you can rent both together if you are travelling with friends or extended family.

The Roda Golf and Beach resort is situated next to the stunning salt water lagoon known as the “Mar Menor”. This delightful Mediterranean salt water sea has a 73 km coastline perimeter with numerous sandy beaches, the closest being Los Narejos, which we can recommend.
Unsurprisingly, the fish and seafood are fabulous and can be enjoyed in the numerous restaurants in the area. There is also a fantastic selection of world cuisine from curries to sushi to be found in Loz Alcazares. If you are just after a beer after a day at the beach there are plenty of bars along the beach front or in the pedestrian area of Los Alcazares (just follow the signs to Mercadona).
Cartagena is a lovely day out, only 30 mins drive along the AP7 it has some very interesting archeological sites, including the Augusteum; the Decumano; the House of Fortune; the Roman Theatre and the National Maritime Museum.
There are numerous shopping centres in the area. If you are after a supermarket shop, try Mercadona or Consum in Los Alcazares.
If you are looking for some more serious retail therapy, the enormous malls of Murcia are only 25 mins away with a huge Carrefour, Ikea, Toys R Us, Decathlon and lots more.
There are numerous events and festivals happening in the region throughout the year from the “Fish and Rice Day”in Los Alcazares to religious processions at San Pedro del Pinatar and the Carnival in Cartagena. Drop in at the Tourist Info at Los Alcarazes to find out what is happening during your visit.
Alternatively, there are museums to visit; five in Cartagena but also closer to home there is the San Javier Museum; the Parish Museum - also in San Javier; the Municipal Aeronautical Museum in Loz Alcazares and the Sea Museum in San Pedro del Pinatar.

Local activities / places of interest
Because of its warmth, serenity and favourable weather conditions, the Mar Menor is like a giant swimming pool; ideal for families. There are children’s play areas with swings and slides dotted along the beaches.
The area has numerous prestigious golf courses – Roda being one of them. All within 30 mins are La Manga, El Valle, Hacienda del Alamo, La Torre and Mosa Trajectum.
There are also sports centres at Los Alcazares and San Pedro del Pinatar. Alternatively, you can cycle, walk or horseback ride around the Mar Menor along one of the numerous routes.
Water Sports are fantastic here, there are infinite possibilities including sailing, water skiing, wind surfing, kite surfing, scuba diving as well as fishing. As for other sports the Mar Menor boasts magnificent facilities in its sports centres.
The special climatic conditions of the Mar Menor also mean it is renowned for its therapeutic qualities. At many points along the coast you can indulge in a free spa mud treatment – highly recommended. The best location for this is at Las Salinas Lo Pagan where the seabed houses a great treasure of medicinal sediments.

Travelling there
Directions from Murcia - San Javier Airport to Roda Golf & Beach Resort (5-10mins)
Town House 124 (block 54)
• Exit airport complex
• Go straight across first roundabout (palm trees in the middle) taking the AP7 sign posted towards Alicante, Cartegena and Murcia
• Follow this road for about 1 mile then go straight across 1st roundabout, under the motorway and at the next roundabout turn left taking the AP7 towards Cartegena and Los Alcazares.
• Go down the AP7 for one junction, and exit at junction 786, signed to Los Narejos and Los Alcazares.
• Go over the fly over (i.e going over the AP7).
• At the next roundabout turn right signed to Los Alcazares. (At this roundabout there are some decoratively painted arches and the Roblemar restaurant.)
• Next roundabout turn right on the F27, sign posted to Roda.
• Roda Golf & Beach Resort is on the Right Hand Side after ¼ of a mile.
• Enter through the barriers.
• Within the resort at the first roundabout (plaza espigon) turn left (avenida del Mar). At next roundabout (plaza falua) take first exit (calle cantile). Follow the round around until you start coming back on yourself. On the right hand side is a pool. Park on the left. The town house is the 2nd one in from the road.
As travelling from the UK to Europe has now become so easy there are many departure airports and carriers to choose from flying directly into Murcia Airport. Roda is only 6 minutes from the airport, you can book a hire car otherwise a transfer can be organised on your behalf for your arrival when booking accommodation.
An alternative is Alicante Airport, which is approximately 1 hour away from Roda. We can arrange a transfer for you or you can book car hire or taxi.
For car hire, we advise using a price comparison site as prices vary dramatically. We also advise booking well in advance of your travel dates as prices do go up. Please make sure you enter the Airport as your pick up point otherwise you may have to get a transfer into town

Open normally from June 1st to October 1st, there are regular pick-ups from the Golf club car park, which take you to the ferry at San Diego de la Ribera, on which you will cross the waters of the Mar Menor to La Manga. The beach club provides guests with a place of comfort and quality to relax during the day and dine & party at night.

We are fully equipped for children, having a baby and toddler ourselves. You are welcome to use any equipment free of charge. This includes: high chair; 2 travel cots; indoor, pool and beach toys; UV beach tent; stair gates; plastic crockery and cutlery and more! Notes on accommodation
Wall mounted flatscreen UK sat TV, DVD player, CD radio and ipod docking station. Also a range of DVDs, books and games are available for your use. There are also plenty of UK adaptors.
There are an abundance of towels (inside, pool and beach)and sheets included. 65E charge for cleaning. A mid week clean or linen change can be arranged. A welcome pack is available on request(paid for on arrival). We can also arrange for taxis, bike hire and baby sitters.

Course description
This excellent 18-hole, par 72 golf course, designed by Dave Thomas was created by combining different environments and working for a total adaptation to the Mediterranean landscape and vegetation. They have transformed the practically flat ground into an interesting and undulating golf terrain, with strategically placed lakes and carefully designed tree planting integrated in to the design, to challenge all levels of golfers. Watch out for the 7th Hole - 174m Par 3, played over water with the green on a small island!
Dave is rightly proud of his creation and has cleverly shaped the previously flat landscape into an interesting and undulating golfing terrain that is pleasing to the eye and provides an interesting and challenging test of golf. The design incorporates 3 strategically located lakes and a great deal of emphasis has also been placed on integrated tree planting and landscaping.

I just wanted to drop you a line to thank you for your help in ensuring that we got our holiday in the end. Your holiday home was perfect. We kept planning to go someplace, but after a leisurely breakfast and a swim and a read, ended up hanging out and chilling. We were really relaxed by the end of our stay. I even cooked dinner a couple of times, which is unheard of on holiday (I usually avoid it on holiday as my husband does not cook much and it is down to me for the rest of the year) but all the bits and pieces of this and that were there so it was easy. I read 2 books and half completed a book of Sudoku.
Because our flights did not coincide with our final holiday dates in the end, we had a few days in an apartment on Roda waiting for our flight home, and it was an anti-climax after yours. We ended up going to the beach much more.

Just wanted to send you a quick mail to say we had a really lovely holiday at Roda. Though the weather was a little hit and miss we had some lovely days and the kids had a ball. As you said, the beach and sea are ideal for little ones. They rolled into bed at the end of every day happy and exhausted! Craig and my dad thoroughly enjoyed the golf and Craig played the best round he's ever had so it was a real hit. It was also great to have the facility of both apartments and it was so quiet in the immediate area we essentially had the pool to ourselves :-)

Hi Katy,
Just wanted to say thank you so much for a lovely holiday in your Roda town house! We had a week of relaxing round the pool and beach mostly as the weather was great, choose not to hire a car and still managed to get to the beach and bars as was only a half hour walk which was good exercise for us. The house was so well equipped with children's things from toys to bed guards - Action man seemed to be the favourite!!
