Designs Revealed of the Paramount Resort

Date posted: 13 April 2011

Detailed plans of the Paramount Resort to be built in Murcia is expected to attract five million visitors per year which is 50% increase on Spain’s current largest theme park Porta Ventura.

Over one billion Euros is to be invested in the park which will employ in excess of 10,000 people during the course of construction. The park will also contain an auditorium with capacity for 15,000 people and the largest convention centre in the region of Murcia capable of accommodating over 3,000 people in its main hall.

Murcia, was primarily chosen for its weather with 300 days of sunshine a year which will attract visitors throughout the whole year as opposed to Euro Disney who have battled with the harsh Paris winters. Another factor was the current and future infrastructure within the area which included the close proximity of  the new Corvera International Airport, the  motorway network plus the planned AVE high speed train links into the region.

The designer of the new Paramount Resort announced his role was to not just to entertain the visitors but immerse them in a world of play, exploration and participation. Although the final elements have yet to be unveiled, he promised that a visit to the Paramount Murcia Theme Park would be unique and one not to be forgotten.

Initial designs for the new Paramount Resort are structured within 2 zones, a Lifestyle Zone with large auditorium, accommodation and shopping village plus the main park area. The themes for the park area were chosen on popularity of films in the European market but also taking into account elements which can be realistically transferred to a theme park environment. The new creation will be promoting adventure participation with visitors interacting within the latest 4 dimensional technology. More research into Spanish views may also have a bearing on the final design.

A mammoth imitation of  The Titanic along with its accompanying iceberg will form the main centrepiece of the Adventure City. The zone will include three roller coaster rides to include a thrilling car chase ride based on the Italian Job plus a thrilling 4d world of international espionage from the film Mission Impossible.

The Lost Valley area will feature a water ride recreating a hair raising trip down the Congo river ride through dangerous terrain and tropical terror, a zone of adventure and discovery. From here visitors will uncover the legendary castle of Beowulf via a rollercoaster ride plus

The more sedate Woodland Fantasy will delight the younger family element with its magical workshops, magical forest, fantasy zone and sleepy hollow taberna.

Plaza Futuro  offers visitors a chance to be immersed into the action and adventures of Star Trek using the most advanced integration technology and special effects. Visitors can also fight off alien invaders in a spectacular 4d battle within the recreation of the War of the Worlds. In the same zone, Paranormal Activity awaits those who dare to enter, and we´ve been promised ghosts which will swoop and dive on visitors using frighteningly realistic 3d imagery and audio effects.
