There’s something for everyone in this relatively unknown region of Spain which the Spaniards have been keeping to themselves with very good reason. The area offers a diverse selection of activities for your visit including all manner of water sports, hiking, hill-climbing and much more. A further accolade is that the World Health Organisation declared the Costa Calida to have one of the cleanest and healthiest climates in the world.

The area is steeped in history with a wealth of fascinating museums, palaces, churches and ancient monuments.

For beach lovers, there are miles of beautiful golden sand along the Costa Calida and the warm waters of the Mar Menor, Europe’s largest salt water lagoon are very safe for bathing.

A popular seaside resort Los Alcazares, is central to the area and within 30 minutes of all the resorts. A number of beaches have been awarded the Q mark for quality.

Most of the local towns hold a weekly market and if you’re lucky enough to be visiting during one of the many local fiestas, they are well worth a visit, as the Spanish really like to party!

The Costa Calida also offers some of the best sea fishing around the Spanish coastline, together with a choice of many golf courses, horse riding and cycling. In fact, something for everyone and with 320 days of sunshine a year, what are you waiting for!
